72 Seasons!

One of my haiku goals this year, like every year, is to write at least one haiku every day! This year I want to add a little twist by giving myself parameters. I will be writing at least one haiku that follows the traditional 72 micro-seasons of Japan.

These micro-seasons typically last for four or five days and describe with more in-depth what is happening in the world, weather wise. Each micro-season is grouped under a macro-season, so there are 24 macro-seasons and then divided more by three—three micro-seasons under one macro-season which then would be under one major season i.e. winter or spring.

I will publish the major season, the macro-season, and then the micro-season along with the haiku that I wrote for that day. I will do my best with these haiku some of them won’t be good others might be; however, the point of this project is to try experiment and to be creative. By posting, it gives me accountability, and I hope people will comment in the comment section.

I will be using the 72 Seasons app on my iPhone to know what season I am in and what words/images I can use. My girlfriend made a cute journal for me to write in as my Christmas present; I am so blessed to have her.

I hope you all will enjoy these haiku! Happy New Year!!!

Please pray for me that I may be inspired to write good haiku this year!
