My Bethany Life - Week 10

Another week down, only six ish left to go!

On Monday I was supposed to go apple picking with my fellow seminarians, but the weather was bad, so we didn’t. However, PPRS still met that evening, and we had a chill hang out and drank apple cider.

At Applied Storytelling, I learned about Voice of Witness which is this nonprofit organization that focuses on oral history. The class discussed about this group and the method we read in our readings before the class. Honestly, this group is doing great work and is lifting up voices that are normally not heard.

Wednesday, I had chapel and worked on my work-study work. I also finished watching the Doctor Who clips for Science Fiction & Theology class. The show is interesting. Maybe when I have free time, I’ll start watching the full episodes, but there are so many! During the evening I saw Dune; it was a good film, but it was so long haha. Now I want to read the book. Can’t wait for the second part.

At my Poetry Workshop class, one of my classmates presented his work on “duration poetry” which is an experimental poetry form. It was interesting. The rest of class we talked about how to revise and workshop each other’s poems.

On Friday, I did more work for my work-study job and then headed to Columbus for homecoming. I met some of my friends who graduated before me, and we walked around campus and got food. I love them to bits (especially Cc. She wanted a shout out this week haha. Thanks for being a loyal reader friend. Love ya much!)

Saturday and Sunday were the same as I met with friends and went to homecoming events.

Tomorrow starts both “No Shave November” and “Nanowrimo” (National Novel Writing Month). Both of these I will be participating in. So, by the end of November, I will have a nice beard and the first draft of a novel…hopefully or I’ll go 0-2.

I also got a couple poems published in two magazines. Check them out! Stardust Haiku and Whiptail Journal.

Prayers and thoughts are always appreciated for me as I continue my journey in higher education! Thank you for reading and have a blessed day!
