My Bethany Life - Week 25

Week 25

Monday—I worked on my homework. Very exciting…

Tuesday—During Introduction to Theological Reflection, we discussed theological anthropology. So, what is a human being? Discussion included what our bodies were before the fall and when they are resurrected. Also, we discussed sex, gender, and sexuality.

During Preaching, Theopoetics, & Society, we discussed the readings which were all on the patterns and styles of sermons.

Then I played euchre for the rest of the night.

Wednesday—I had morning chapel and after chapel I met with my preaching professor to discuss my future sermons for her class.

I then did training for the Boy Scouts and other paperwork for them. When I went to their weekly meeting, I was introduced as a new adult leader, and now, I am also a merit badge councilor.

Thursday—At Theopoetics 1, we finished our discussion on A God in the House and moved on to talking about Amanda Gorman. She is 24, and I am 23…I need to step up my game like she did.

Friday—In the morning, I had my meeting with my haiku mentees.

During the afternoon, I met with my professor for my job and the project I am researching for her was unfortunately scrapped. It’s a bummer because of all the work everyone did for the project, but it is what it is. I am still her research assistant so that’s the silver lining.

That evening, I helped the young adults lead stations of the cross.

Saturday—In the morning, I led the monthly Ohio Haiku meeting. Then in the afternoon, the national council of Phi Beta met.

Sunday—I went on the weekly hike with my fellow seminarian. She is basically ready for her trip to hike the Camino. My weekend was capped off with Bible study.

During the week, I got accepted by four journals for my haiku. So, I have submitted to seven journals since the start of the year, and I have gotten into five out of the seven. I am so happy as this has not happened before. I can’t wait for them to be published.

Prayers and thoughts are always appreciated for me as I continue my journey in higher education! Thank you for reading and have a blessed day!
