Week 26
Monday—I worked on homework and drove my roommate to the airport. Then during the evening, I had my first meeting for my class at Trinity Lutheran Seminary. It was an introduction meeting where we went over the syllabus and introduced each other. This class is a two-week intensive where I will be going to the Holy Land—I am very excited for this trip.
Tuesday—At Introduction to Theological Reflection, we started our first class on Christology. We went over the definitions and heresies throughout church history and then we looked at how Christ is discussed from marginalized groups.
At Theopoetics, Preaching, and Society, I preached my second sermon which went well. I preached on the Holy Family and how Mary is the Mother of Refugees and that families who are fleeing from their home country are icons of the Holy Family.
Then I ended the night with Euchre.
Wednesday—I had chapel in the morning and volunteered with the Boy Scouts in the evening.
Thursday—At Theopoetics 1, we finished our discussion on Gorman and moved on to Rilke. Once my class was over, I was officially on Spring Break!
I drove to Capital University to hear Dr. Joy Schroeder give a lecture about her new book Voices Long Silenced: Women Biblical Interpreters Through the Centuries. The lecture was great and after which I went to my girlfriend’s home.
Friday and Saturday, I spent time with my girlfriend and her family.
Sunday—I went to lunch with my brother and mother. After that, I had a meeting with the HNA program committee. Then ended the weekend with DND and Bible Study.
I also found out I had a haiku selected in the Golden Haiku Contest. So, a sign with my haiku on it will be somewhere in Washington, D.C. Here is my haiku!
I am going to be on Spring Break, so I won’t be posting next Sunday. See you all later! Thank you for reading and have a blessed day!
Woohoo! Congrats on your haiku being chosen, you deserve it!
