Week 28
Monday—I worked on schoolwork and work study work.
Tuesday—At Intro to Theological Reflection, we discussed our final papers and talked about who the Holy Spirit is and how the Holy Spirit is involved in the Christian life.
At Theopoetics, Preaching, & Society, we discussed how women preach from the pulpit and queer homiletics.
Wednesday—I had chapel in the morning and common meal. Then that evening I had a poetry reading with four other classmates in the Theopoetis program. It went really well, and I hope we will do more in the future.
Thursday—At Theopoetics 1, we had three classmates present their theopoets to the class. I was interested in one theopoet who was presented, and she was Sor Juana Ines de la Cruz. We continued our discussion on Rilke and then we will move on to Walt Whitman and Emily Dickinson.
After class, I baked more potato bread which turned out better than the first batch.
Friday—I met with my advisor to discuss my thesis portfolio and independent study. After that meeting, I had my haiku mentee meeting. Then I went to the Episcopalian Benedictine abbey at Three Rivers Michigan, St. Gregory’s Abbey.
Saturday—I prayed with the monks and worked on schoolwork.
Sunday—I left the monastery and came back to Richmond. Then ended the week with Bible study.
Prayers and thoughts are always appreciated for me as I continue my journey in higher education! Thank you for reading and have a blessed day!
