Week four was a time of no motivation, but I got through it.
On the 12th, I had an interview posted on the Haiku Foundation’s “New to Haiku” column. The link is here.
On Tuesday, I had my haiku mentoring session with Haiku Society of America and had some of my haiku workshopped. It was also the day where it was announced that I would be leading the group as the mentor. I am excited and nervous about that.
At Applied Storytelling, we discussed our experience being story companions as a class. We then discussed the readings of the class which focused on how the Torah was used as an educational tool for Israel and as a way to bind the people together, and the other topic we discussed was civil religion. The civil religion discussion took the majority of the class time as we talked about the narratives that we saw in our lives.
Wednesday, I officially started my job as associate editor! So that is two work-study jobs now. Our house also went out to dinner together at an Indian restaurant which was good.
Poetry class went well as I wrote an ode to mac n cheese bites, and we discussed about lines and line breaks.
This weekend I journeyed back to Capital to speak at the Religion and Philosophy department’s departmental seminar. They asked me and another alumni to come and talk about thesis writing and what we are doing post-graduation.
This week, hopefully, I will get all the logistics of RCIA and volunteering at the school taken care of. But this last week was calm, yet I have a paper due on Saturday. So, prayers are appreciated!
Prayers and thoughts are always appreciated for me as I continue my journey in higher education! Thank you for reading and have a blessed day!
