Week 27
Back from Spring Break!!
Monday—Came back to Richmond and prepped for class the next day. During the evening, I had PPRS where we hung out and wrote poetry.
Tuesday—At Intro to Theological Reflection, we continued talking about Christology specifically atonement theory. Personally, I gravitate towards Christus Victor and Satisfaction, but Julian of Norwich’s theory along with von Balthasar’s was captivating as well. At the end of the day, I will try to incorporate all of them into one conglomerate, but I am trying to figure out which one is center piece.
At Theopoetics, Preaching, & Society, we went over MLK’s “I have a Dream” speech/sermon. We also discussed what “prophetic preaching” was.
Wednesday—I had chapel in the morning and volunteered with the Boy Scouts in the evening. I am so rusty with the Boy Scouts, but I am getting back into the swing of it.
Thursday—Theopoetics 1 was cancelled so I made potato bread instead (picture below). For the first time making bread, it turned out great! Everyone loved it at teatime in the afternoon.
Friday—I traveled back to Columbus and saw my girlfriend. I also had a meeting with my professor about work. During that evening, I went to Phi Mu Alpha’s initiation as alumni are welcomed.
Saturday—I traveled back to Richmond and saw Morbius with my roommates. It was not that great. We discussed how a lot of these movies are no longer trying to be movies in themselves, but rather, they are just devices to set up characters and events for the next big cross over event.
Sunday—I went to a Quaker meeting for the first time. It was an interesting experience; I normally don’t sit for an hour in mostly silence. I then ended the weekend with DND and Bible Study.
Prayers and thoughts are always appreciated for me as I continue my journey in higher education! Thank you for reading and have a blessed day!
